Tulip Fest: March 23 – April 29, 2019
The Tulip Fest is one of those places where you see pictures of massive fields of tulips and think, “how beautiful — must be in some exotic locale.” The tulip fields at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn are just an hour away from Portland, and worth every minute spent getting and being there. Lots of people go, and they’re out wandering acres of tulips. It doesn’t take long to become entranced by the tulips, though, and you soon don’t see any people. This is really one of those things you need to do at least once!
The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm is a very elaborate endeavor: a big child area with a big slide and a jumper house; tram and hay rides; wine tasting; a lot of food choices; gift shop; artisan craft booths. There’s a pink tractor out in the fields you can climb on for a picture. And a lot of people!
It’s easy to find the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm – they want to be found! The farm is located in Woodburn, less than an hour south of Portland and just off Interstate 5. The Field Report is updated daily with the conditions.
